Day 2 in the park included a walk thru an other-worldly live oak/saw palmetto forest, a beach walk and more wildlife. While we were sitting on the beach we had a couple of eaten apple cores which we placed in the sand till we left. We were approached by Larry and Dot. They were both very interested in our apple cores but way too timid to get too close. Move one core 6 inches and Larry was all over it. Dot hung around to grab the pieces that Larry was throwing around. Quite humorous. We did feel guilty about feeding them, training them to view people as food sources, which they had already figured out.

Conclusion on passages? Passages are necessary to get from point A to point B; that is what a sailing journey is all about. You get to see wonderful things; be it nature, great cities, dolphins on the water, birds in the air, etc. We sat and talked about all of our passages, be it on our boat on this trip or on our 2 trips on others in the Pacific and came to the realization that none of the passages that we have done have been idyllic or easy. None! All came with some amount of effort, angst and tribulation. So, this means creating a mindset to NOT have expectations or NOT make assumptions and prepare to go forward and accept what comes. Live in the moment…
